A Marketing Story

Let me tell you a marketing  story –  Just like everyone you will ever meet, everyone has their story to tell. This is a marketers story based on my experience and while it may not be a long story, it is a story that holds sadness and then promise.  Will you join me?

a marketing story a success story A marketing story  should always have a beginning and mine began in  October of 2013 with  a short phone call from a relative  whose voice was very enthusiastic as he spoke  to me.  My cousin says, “Hey cuz, I got this great opportunity for us and we won’t have to work a 9 to 5 ever again!”  So me myself  being the fun, loving, and listening cousin that I am, begin to hear him out.  We first signed up with a MLM company without any marketing experience at all thinking we were going to make a lot of money because we hear that all the other  marketers that were in the same company were making way over $1,000 per week,  “Oh this is going to be easy,”  I replied.  “Getting two people to sign up with me in this company shouldn’t be that hard.”  I said.  So one month went by then two months went by then three and still no one had signed up with me.           My frustration had started to build up and what was I to do – call my cousin and complain?  No.  I did what any novice marketer would do, and that was quit! I  began to search for another company and had communicated with my cousin about what happened, he also decided to do the same thing,  I mean we are cousins right?  As we studied another company we thought for sure we were going to make some money this time,  boy were we fooled,  another waste of time.  It would seem that a marketing story like this is nothing but a sad story..or is it?  Keep reading   Which brings me to 2014.   Its been a whole year now and a lot of things have changed since last year,  I’m blogging now,  making ads,  making banners,  and meeting new friends.  After all the hunting and searching, I finally found a company that is working for me and I confess to saying thank you to a team of great people who are helping me. As with any good story a marketing story that has a good ending is a good feel story. The important lesson I have learned is that when you work with a group of people who are all the same accord, nothing is impossible. I always said,   “A  thousand heads are better than one!”  “Diligence is key!”
