A short conversation about the language of Leet.
A while back a good friend of mine posted this message on one of the social networks he is in and I became intrigued

While it is amazing how our minds work, I was more interested in how this code or language came about so did some digging to solve the problem
The language is called “LEET Talk” aka “1337 Talk” which is a short form for “elite” and was supposed to be an exclusive language for hackers back in the 80’s. Some argue though that this originated among AOL users who believed that downloading an AOL hack program made them… 337 h4xx0r d00dZ (elite hacker dudes). While some people say that the smiley-face emoticons that we all know come from the language of leet, others ( purists) insist that leetspeak is for word encryption only. To be honest I have no idea to the truth of this, I mention it only for the conversation.
Regardless it’s a great language to start a conversation or to impress people at a G+ hangout..hmmm
To gain an understanding of how to speak Leet, the video below is a great tutorial
If you are too lazy to figure it all out then I recommend that you just use this online program appropriately called…. The Leet Translator so now you can WOW people very quickly and if you are a boomer you will have your kids and grand kids in awe!
