Content syndicating and Repurposing your blog posts

I was asked a question earlier today about blog or article posts and if they can be put on a third party site?

I would like to answer this question as it is a common question being asked on the Adlandpro blogging community.

First off we need to give a name to the process of putting your blog or site content onto another site and its called content syndication.

Content syndication is a method where people can put their post or article on many websites or directories and While there is a debate going on as to the value of this style of “content creation”, the fact is it is done on a daily basis.

The reality from my perspective is that having the same content being put on a multitude of websites is not going to be valued as high as unique content and Google says that content that is deliberately duplicated across domains in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings or win more traffic will be dealt with accordingly.

Google also says:

Syndicate carefully: If you syndicate your content on other sites, Google will always show the version we think is most appropriate for users in each given search, which may or may not be the version you’d prefer. However, it is helpful to ensure that each site on which your content is syndicated includes a link back to your original article. You can also ask those who use your syndicated material to use the noindex meta tag to prevent search engines from indexing their version of the content.

Well now that we know the problem, how do we repurpose articles or blog posts to keep Google happy and more important keep our readers happy ( to me that is most important)

1. You could reformat your post and put on a directory. The two places worthy of mention are

2. Create a good Google Plus post

3. Create twitter posts

4. Curate your post

-Add a new title

-Add a new image or video

-Say something about your article that will be interesting and add value to your post

 5. Create a pinterest post ( dont forget to add a good description and good hashtags

 6. Turn your post into a SlideShare

On the Adlandpro Blogging community I would say that the best way for you to repurpose your articles is to use number 4 and curate your posts.

No matter what you decide to do, one last tip for repurposing your articles, always keep your reader in mind and people will always come back for more.

I hope this has helped you understand the concept of content syndication and how to best repurpose your posts.
