If you have been involved in Internet Marketing or any Mlm or Business Opportunity for any length of time your have most likely been told that prospecting and sponsoring people is as simply as placing a few ads, sending out some emails and if you want a quick start and hands off approach to purchase high quality leads from a specific lead generation company found in your back-office.
After all it is all about the numbers, the more you put through the system the sooner you will sponsor someone, if not purchase more leads and advertising until you do…But don’t worry about the cost because you are just investing in your business! These are Deceptive tactics and Lies!
We have all heard this one before “The Money Is In The List” for most new Mlmers and business opportunity seekers this may very well pose as a monumental task.
Why do ‘Biz Ops’ claim all you need to do is prospect everyone you know do the ‘3 foot rule’, spend some money on purchasing good quality leads, send out postcards, drop off business cards everywhere, place a few classifieds ads, do some pay per click advertising, buy an email list, just promote, recruit and when in doubt promote and recruit some more, it is just a numbers game! Wrong!
They’re hoping if you do an all out promotional advertising blitz that sooner or later someone who really has no idea (newbie or maybe someone like yourself, maybe a business opportunity seeker) will come along and buy into the hype of their program and BAM! YOU have your first sign-up.
Wow! Now what do you do, you have a sign-up, well you were probably told to do exactly what you just finished doing; repeat, rinse and repeat. You were also probably told to inform your new sign-up or member to follow the same thing that you just did.
Well how uncomfortable are you going to feel to tell your new member or recruit to follow the same system that you were told to follow by just spending a few thousand dollars on advertising to get one sign-up? “That’s Not Leadership.”
These kinds of 'shotgun' tactics and strategies of just “load and fire” close your eyes and hopefully you will hit your target have given this industry the insanely bad rap it really doesn’t deserve. The problem remains that there is a lack of professionalism and a whole lot of the blind leading the blind. No one is properly educated or trained on what it really takes to have success in network marketing on how to properly attract prospects into their mlm or business opportunity by first making themselves attractive as a Mentor and Leader.
Unfortunately not everyone is a prospect or else everyone would have a home-based business regardless of what you may have been told and made to believe, most people are happy with their current employment and lifestyles and really don’t want the headache of running a business from home or have anything to do with MLM and the Internet marketing Industry.
Trying to prospect and sell someone on your opportunity, who is not looking for one is just a waste of time, money and most of all your energy. I am sure you have heard this before, with every 100 hundred people that look at your opportunity at least 2-5 will get involved. Not likely, I’m sure if you threw a hundred business cards into a crowd of a 100 people a good majority of them would pick them up, read them, but how many of them would actual act on them, most likely none. Why? For one they weren’t looking for whatever opportunity or program was on your business card. Second they probably have no idea who you are, if you are even trust worthy and if you have any real know shun or idea in what the hell you are doing.
Prospecting this way just goes to show people how you run your business, if your soliciting to everyone and anyone you are showing people you lack knowledge, leadership and you are most likely in it just to try an make a quick buck or two. It also shows that if you are using second-rate marketing methods your success in this industry is probably one in the same.
If you don’t take your business seriously, and continue to use cheap ineffective marketing methods with no real tangible proven success and proper business ethics than you will never be taken seriously and you will set yourself up for failure.
Stop chasing prospects, become an attraction marketer who is viewed as a leader and professional not a ‘pushover’ or ‘bully’ marketer who is an annoyance and constantly irritates people about their opportunity and why it’s the best.
I know you have heard this term before it is widely used on the Internet today “Turn The Hunter Into The Hunted.” When you position yourself as a professional and a leader who can offer value and guidance. You will have prospects coming to you and joining with you regardless of what MLM or Business Opportunity you are involved with.
Many Internet marketers have been conditioned from their Sponsors and ‘Biz Ops’ to use arm-twisting tactics to try and convert every prospect into leads, which will hopefully become sales. You’re told too take advantage of everyone you come across, preach your opportunity and constantly be on the hunt. These old methods are extremely mentally draining and are no longer viable in today’s new web 2.0 and soon to be web 3.0 platforms.
People have also become conditioned to this style of marketing, and are very aware of the ‘hunt’ and no longer want to be a victim and forced into believing that they need a specific program or opportunity to solve whatever ailment they are suffering from.

Why are the old network marketing methods pushed on you so hard as a new Internet marketer and entrepreneur, when sponsors and Biz Ops Companies know they really don’t work? The main reason behind all this cloak and dagger nonsense is just plain old money, because there is just an incredible amount of income and revenue generated from your bank accounts into the hands of the greedy.
The marketing experience and knowledge a new marketer lacks starting out leaves an open door for Biz Ops, Advertising Agencies, Lead Generation Companies, pretty well anyone with a base knowledge of marketing and a website to reap in the benefits of free enterprise and empty your pockets. Charging an insane amount of money for what they call ‘quality’ or ‘hot leads’ guaranteed ‘click-throughs’ and ‘email lists’ and so on, just keep spending money and maybe sooner or later you might have success!
The only guarantee you will get is they are guaranteed to continued to take your money for as long as you will let them or until you are completely broke and out of business. You’ll be left with a list of recycled and none quality prospects that have no interest with any business opportunity whatsoever that you were promoting and of which you most likely may of thought that everyone should have loved to be a part of your great opportunity, the one that was going to make you financially independent, OUCH! Sorry but that is reality.
I know how you are feeling, I have been there and I hate to say it, more than once, but all hope is not lost! Wouldn’t it be refreshingly gratifying not to release a never-ending stream of money to get prospects or leads? Imagine experiencing the satisfaction of people actually paying you to prospect them. I know this really sounds impossible but there is a whole other realm of attracting quality niche driven prospects to you and whatever business opportunity you may be involved with by learning the simple methods associated with “Information Marketing.”
